The ex- hibits were numerous in each class and of excellent quality. Holstein school carried off $33.85 in prizes. S. S. No. 12 carried off flrst in the school march, S. S. No. 10, second, and Holstein school secured third place. In the speaxing contest, Miss Florence Patterson secured first place for girls, and Miss Marie Ait- ken second in the girls' class. The deceased lady was born in Lan- ark County, January 16, 1844, and was married to the late Matthew Mather on January 1, 19. Her husband predeceased here .17 years ago.
