Some idea of the quality of the play may be gained from the fact that the score was 2-2 at the end of the fifth inning. A three-bagger by “Tim" McIlraith, and two errors on the Student’s part in the sixth, and three bunched singles and one error in the seventh did the dam- age, tallying seven 'runs for the “Crush- ers", while the best the High School could get was one in each inning. Aljoe on the mount for the Stone plant was in fine form striking out four men and getting an assist. Hopkins for the High school, while pitching a faster ball, did not seem to have the same success and when his offerings were hit how they did travel. The Students showed much improve- ment over their last appearance on the diamond and although there were fumbles and misjudgments their team play was of the kind that wins ball lgames. They certainly spared no ef- fumbles and mis play was of the games. They ce forts to stop a 2 they can’t catch : Rowe at third b: in the way once time. Score by Innings Stone Plant .. High School Benedicts Iiiâ€"High School 6 Losing two in a row the High school dropped a game to the Benedicts on Tuesday night to the tune of 13-6. Owing to a picnic held at Aberdeen in the afternoon, four of the students were absent and they placed a pick-up team in the field. The married men evidently took advantage of this state of affairs and improved their standing with a win. It is whispered around that the Stone Plant is to appear in new uniforms at their next game. They evidently have the championship in view. Hanover Here Tonight The Canada Life Insurance team of Hanover will play the local All Stars at the High school grounds tonight (Thursday). The sche- dule has not been drawn up yet, the representatives of the teams having to meet and arrange this. In order to get some experience the locals are arrang- ing exhibition games with Walkerton and Hanover, the dates of which will be announced later.
