Through this magniï¬cent in- stitution for healing, the very poor child has an equal advantage with he very rich in securing the beneï¬t of the ï¬nest known medical and surgical skill. There are no strings to admit- tance of the child requiring- hospital and rapid expansion of this mission of mervy. Total number of cat patents in year 6,970, an increase of 977 over the previous year; actual number of patient days 132,718, an increase of 11,301; average days’ stay of all patients 19. These figures include the wonder- ful country hospital at Thistletown, where the year's total of patient days was 36,876 and the daily average 101. In addition to this. the out-patient de- partment, at the main hospital, had 58, 705 attendances within the year, the largest number or patients treated in a single day being 317. As a friend of afflicted little folks, you will learn with satisfaction that through the benevolence of its support- ers the Hospital for Sick children was enabled to increase its service consider- ably during the past year. In that per- iod its cots were occupied by nearly 7,000 small patients, most of whom were restored, or are well upon the way to recovery now.
