Mr. and Mrs. John McMeekin, Mr. and Mrs Sandy Stonehouse and Mrs. McMeekin, Sr., attended the funeral of the latter’s brother, Mr. Mark Stone- house, on Thursday at Mona Road. Mr. and Mrs .Billie Nichol and family visited Friday night at Mr. Allie Mc- Lean’s. He intends moving this spring to Mount Zion. The funeral of the late Jim Vause was held Saturday afternoon from Proton Station to EverGreen cemetery on the south line. Mr. Vause had been ill for the past few weeks. He had been helping Mr. Earnie Stinson dehorn cattle and apparently was knocked down and bruised after which pneu- monia set in and the end came Thurs- day night. He was a kind and obliging neighbor and was well liked by every- body. He used to pve on the farm now owned by William Dingwall. About ten years ago he moved to Proton Station and was a successful carpenter. He was Station and three brothers, Jack of Stayner, George in the West and Ro- bert on the old Durham Road.
