On Wednesday the Holdfast U.F.W.O. Club meeting was held at the home of Miss May Stewart with 31 present. Mrs. Wm. Beaton presided. After singing the Club’s song and repeating the creed, the grandmothers had charge of the programmeMrs. Alex. Carson gave a recitation, “Grandma.” A number of the ladies sang “Grandma in her old arra- chair." Mrs. Hazard gave a humorous reading, “The Minuet of Long Ago.” which was much enjoyed. Mrs. Richard- son Whittaker favored the audience with three recitations, one on Temper- ance, Sixty Years Ago, and the Lips that touch liquor shall never touch mine, which was much appreciated. Mrs. Thomas Irwin gave a splendid reading. Grandma’s Advice. Community singing was also enjoyed. Mrs. Beaton presided at the organ. A contest was put on by Mrs. George Campbell and caused much fun. Miss May Stewart won the prize, a beautiful colored dish. after which a bountiful lunch was serv- ed. The meeting closed with God Save thte King.
