There are diï¬erent implements on the markets for crushing lumps on a field that is being cultivated. but in Lambton County a home-made one was seen that did the trick. It was a red oak stick of timber about 10 feet long with harrow teeth and railroad spikes driven in the bottom. A frame was mor- tised .into the timber by which it was drawn. This stick of timber breaks up the lumps and ï¬rms the ground. It is especially useful in preparing the seed- bed where the ground is lumpy. Limin and Mrs. McGowaA and Miss Banks of Regina.
