Funeral services for the late Mrs John Vasey whome in the Durham lemorial Hospital on Wemesday, April 30, were held from the “finish Funeral Home to St. Peter’s R.C. Tickets were sold on the crib quilt the members had done from Artex embroidery. Mrs Adair and Mrs Whittaker convened the prOgram. Readings were given by Mrs T. Currie and Mrs Bradey Irwin. Two contests were given with Mrs Bradey Irwin and Mrs Ritchie, Mrs C. Alexander, and Miss Gertie Lever the winners. The hostess gift was won by Mrs P. Sims. The meeting closed with the Creed. The hostess ser- ved refreshments. . About thirty- five relatives and friends gathered at the home of Mr and Mrs Emerson Plester to honour them on the occasion of their twenty-fifth wedding anni- versary. They were married on April 29th by the Rev. G. Keith McMillan in Toronto. A buffet dinner was served. The table was centred with a beautiful anniversary cake flan- ked with pink roses. The couple received many gifts. Mr and Mrs E. M. Homing, Burlington, visited wlfler and Mrs David Pawson and family. Mr and Mrs Ian McWilliam and family, Haileybury, spent a few days with Mr and Mrs John Mr 'and Mrs G. K. Southwood and family were end of the week visitors with Mr Southwood’spa- rents in Port Credit. First of the week visitors with Mr and Mrs C. McCracken were Miss Linda and Cindy Watt of Durham.
