There was a large attendance and the meeting was a very harmonious one. The reports presented showed the church in all its branches to have had a very prosperous year. Notwithstanding loss by removals, the receipts exceed- ed the previous year over $55.00. and all liabilities were fully met. The retiring members of the Manag- ing Board were re-elected, as were also the choir leader and organist. Mr. T. J. Sheppard and Mrs. Jos. Blackburn. The treasurer, Hr. Ios. After the work of the evening, which included an initiation and one degree, all repaired to the neatly decorated dining hall, where the wives of the members had a most inviting spread prepared. After the inner man had been supplied, speech-making was indulged in till an early hour by Rt. W. Bro. Cowan. Bros. M. K. Rich. ardson, A. S. Van Dusen. R. J. Sproule. F. H. W. Hickling. J. A. Boyd. Thom replied in a happy manner, heartily thanking the con- gregation for so warm an expansion of affection towards himself and his wife, after which, pleasing congratu- latory speeches were given by Revs. Wilson and Hurlburt. A pretty trio was rendered by the Joy sisters, after which the congregation was individually presented to the bride. The event was so marked with pleasure that it will be a memorable one to the congregation and to the friends who participated with them. The chairs presented were very pretty reception chairs, one rattan and the other Roman design.
