News has just been received at Rat Portage of the ï¬nding of the skeleton of a man who was lost six years ago. Louis Mattson and Alex. Pearson. who live three miles north of Rosseau. were working up near Rainy River, at Sprague’s lumber camp. They went out cutting pine logs. and glancing up at a very tall tree about 90 feet high, noticed what they thought was a big nest. They felled the tree and were astonished to ï¬nd the supposed nest was the skeleton ofa man with a rope tied around his neck, the other end of rope being tied to the limb of the tree There was a man lost in that region six years ago. and there is no doubt that the remains are his.
