Oct. 16th. Mr. and Mrs. John Duncan received the sad news Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Coyle and family have the sympathy of the community in the loss of their youngest son. Joseph Daniel. at the age of seven months. The funeral took place on Tuesday, Oct. 20th, to Latona cemetery. Rev. Acheson conducted the services at the home and grave. ‘. The funeral sermon was preached in the Ebenezer church. by 'the pastor, Rev. Mr. Roach, after :which the remains of the deceased ' were followed to the cemetery by a large number ot friends. In the pro- cession the VVorkmen and Orange- men went in separate bodies, the Orangemen and pail-bearers marched immediately in front of the hearse. After the burial ceremony by the pasmr, the Orangemen gathered around the grave and performed] their own burial service; paying a ham tribute to their deceased brother and friend. Among the relatives who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Gilpin and daughter from Muskoka, Mrs. Thos. Hymers and son from Donigal. Messrs John and Abraham Jones from Owen Sound, and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Tifi. Hanover. It, was with sorrow that. the friends and acquaintances of the lace J. W. Stephenson learned of his unexpected death. which took place at; his home on Monday the 19th inst. He leaves a wife and two small children to mourn his loss. Some three or four weeks ago Mr. Stephenson became the victim of Typhoid Fever, but with good nursing and good medical aid he was seemingly recovering rapidly and expected to be up in a few days, but, on the Monday morn- ing he became suddenly and fatally ill and died after enduring intense sufiering for about; an hour. He was taken away in the prime of life at the age of 33 years, and he will be very much missed both at home and by his many neighbors by whom he was always held in high esrimation. Messrs Chesley Cheslette and Isaac Hooper lefL last week to fill up- pointments in the lower settlements. We wish them success.
