We attended two funerals on Mon- day, July 2. First. Mrs. John Mc- Vicar in the forenoon. which was largely attended by all classes of the populace. Mrs. McVicar was a long sufferer from an incurable ailment. She was a woman of kind disposi- tion, always ready to help those in need. and her largo and comfortable. house was often a shelter for needy travellers. The funeral obsequies were very solemn, her pastor. Rev. Father Mct‘leoy, speaking comforting words concerning the departed. Her remains were laid to rest in the fine cemetery close by and St. John’s acre . was made the richer by another of the faithful. The deceased. a good ‘wife. and mother. and an obliging ‘neiglilior. was born and raised in tileneg. being a daughter of the late Alex. McDonald. At l’ri(_°eville. the funeral of Mrs. Alex. Livingstone in the afternmin. was also largely attended. as Mrs. Livingstone. whose name was Annie .\lc.\rthur, had friends and relatives in the different. townships of Grey. She was a sutl‘erer since last winter. hut her death was not. expected so soon. Her pastor. the Rev. Mr. Jones preached the fu'neral sermon.
