We congratulate Co. Attorney Farewell upon the able manner in which he handled the crown’s case in the Alger trial. The main evidence in that case required a great deal of corroboration, and the evidence to verify it had to be brought from a good many places. Mr. Farewell presented the whole mass of evidence in a most systematic way, and his address to the jury was a masterpiece of analysis. Had one of the big-wigs of Toronto handled this case, great praise would have been accorded, and probably not a lawyer in the city could have made as clear a case as did Mr. Farewell.
