Lori Melien of Anderson C.V.I. won two swimming events at the Ontario high school championships held March 3 – 4.
She missed the O.F.S.A.A. record by just five hundredths of second as she won the 100 metre freestyle. Melien also just missed breaking her own Ontario record (set last year) for the 100 m. breast stroke.
And she was part of the Anderson relay team which also included Heather Armitage, Jennifer Thatcher and Wendy Primeau, that was second in the 200 medley relay event.
Both Anderson and the first – place team from Earl Haig broke the O.F.S.S.A. record in the relay event.
More than 150 schools competed in the meet which is one of the largest high school swimming meets in North America.
