- A black and white portrait photograph of John Vipond.
- Notes
- John Vipond was born at Raglan, East Whitby Township in 1849 and moved to Brooklin about 1874. A prominent breeder of Clydesdale horses he had many champions. He was a member of the Oshawa Fair Board and was involved in local politics. Mr. Vipond was a Whitby Township Councilor from 1889-1890, Reeve from 1903-1906 and Warden of Ontario County in 1904. He died at Brooklin on April 26, 1926 and is buried in Groveside Cemetery, Brooklin.
