This archive of the Winnetka Talk was made possible through a unique partnership between the Winnetka Historical Society and the Winnetka-Northfield Public Library District. It contains nearly every Winnetka Talk issue published since 1913 and is available online to anyone with a Winnetka-Northfield library card or visiting the Winnetka or Northfield library buildings.
The Winnetka Talk has served as a detailed chronicle of Winnetka, Northfield, and Kenilworth’s storied past. However most historical issues previously existed only in print, with only one known extant copy stored at the Winnetka Historical Society. The library pursued this initiative both to make this resource more accessible and to ensure that the rich tapestry of our community's history is preserved for future generations.
Whether you're a history enthusiast, a student, a genealogist, or simply a curious neighbor, you can now access this digital archive from the comfort of your home. We hope that you will take a moment to explore and engage with the fascinating stories and events that have shaped our community. If you have any questions about this resource, or need any assistance with researching a local history topic, please visit, call, or email the library to discuss with one of our librarians: (847)446-7220 or eref@wnpld.org.
We hope you enjoy!
