After graduating from St. Jerome's College, many alumni went off to fight in the Great War (World War I, 1914-1918). By 1917, the causalities of alumni had become a sad reality, which has been illustrated in this June 1917 issue of the "Alumni" newsletter published in
The Schoolman.
By 1918, many of St. Jerome's College alumni had joined the war effort and continued to enlist.
The Schoolman's March 1918 issue of the "Alumni" newsletter mentions several honorable alumni who fought bravely in World War I.
