George Herbert Bowlby (1865-1916)
G. H. Bowlby was born in Kitchener, Ontario on the 16th of July 1865. He attended St. Jerome's College from 1883-1885. During his time at St. Jerome's College, Bowlby was an athlete and showed great sportsmanship.
After graduating from St. Jerome's College, he pursued his medical education. First, he received his M.D. at Toronto University, before receiving his M.R.C.S. and L.R.C.P. in Great Britain.
Dr. G. H. Bowlby eventually returned to Kitchener to practice medicine before serving the city as Mayor in 1901.
In 1915, Dr. Bowlby left Kitchener once again, for England. He joined the war as the Assistant Director Medical Service of the Canadian Expeditionary Forces. Major G. H. died on November 10, 1916.
James E. Lillis
James Egan Lillis was born in Brantford, Ontario. He graduated from St. Jerome's College in 1912, before enlisting in the army at the age of 20. He served as a gunner in the 12th Brigade C.F.A., 54th Battery unit of the Canadian Expeditionary Force. On April 12, 1917, James E. Lillis was gassed and transferred to a hospital to recover.
Charles Lahey
Charles Lahey was born in Brantford, Ontario. He graduated from St. Jerome's College in 1913. Soon after, Lahey enlisted in the army at the age of 18. He was a driver for the 12th Brigade C.F.A. Battery unit of the Canadian Expeditionary Force. Charles Lahey was wounded in combat on March 30, 1917, after he had gone into the trenches.
