Whitby's Secret Past: The History of Camp X
After the War

Camp X officially closed its doors in 1944. It then became the site for the Canadian Corporation of Signals. This corporation established “The Oshawa Wireless Station.” What was done at the site during this time (1944-1969) is covered by the Official Secrets Act.

The original Sinclair Farmhouse was later used for Fire Department drills, and it was burned to the ground in 1969. The rest of the Camp X buildings were demolished in 1971-1972 with the exception of one, which was moved to 4680 Thickson Road, Whitby, the site of Whitby Animal Services.
