Letter fragment – measles – Arranged about the money
..arranged about the money, he told me so a while ago. I got German measles and had a gorgeous week in the S.E. Hospital, (New Cross London), with 2 others subs and a lot of Ptes. After that I went to Hornblotton and had quite a good time. The old man’s heart is bad so he is rather miserable, and Mrs. trots everywhere for him and nurses him. I went to Bodmin to see Theo. They were dears, and I had a lovely time. We went to Aunt Oddie’s grave at Treleath…..

Dear Mum

I enclose a letter from Grenville Bryant, who was missing the other day, a photo of Hugo, who is now
fit again. He did have a time of it. He told me all about his share in the two days fight as we looked over Tor Bay, the most beautiful place possible, all about shells and bayonets and what not, while all the time the bees buzzed and the robins came for crumbs. I wrote down what I could remember when I came home and will send it to you
