The intent of this photo essay is to share photos and information about the logging industry that opened up the north shore area of Thessalon.
Information has been gleaned from a number of sources including J.E. MacDonald's publications. One book in particular, "Shantymen and Sodbusters", provides excellent documentation of the early logging and pioneer era.
