The first mill in Nesterville was Thessalon Lumber Company (formerly Dyment Lumber Company of Thessalon). Ownership changed and the mill became known as the Bishop Lumber Company. It operated from 1915 to 1925 and was later sold to J.J. McFadden of Blind River who operated the mill until it burnt on June 3, 1928.
Some of the Bishop Lumber Company Co. yard crew took a break for this photo in front of the grading building.
The Nathanial Dyment boat was a twin screw tug boat owned by the Bishop Lumber Co. of Nesterville. Notice the large set of moose antlers that adorn the upper rail at the front of the boat. The racehorse on the smoke stack was apparently there in honor of the Dyment family's involvement in and love of horses and horse racing.
